Rachel Sanders

NCBMA President

I was born in Jacksonville, NC (about an hour North of Wilmington). I was raised in a Christian home and was saved at a young age. I honestly don't remember a time in my life that I didn't know Jesus. I praise God every day for the many blessings He has given me and my family.

I am currently serving as Secretary at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Jacksonville, NC. I've been married to my husband, John, for 21 years and we have 2 beautiful daughters, Carly (20) and Emma (16). As you know, being a Christian doesn't mean that we live perfect lives. There are days we struggle; days we get it so very wrong, but we know that when we step back and rely on God, He will meet our every need according to His perfect will and in His own time. We simply have to be patient and trust Him to do it.

I am humbled to have been elected your President-Elect, and then your President. I don't know all that it entails, but I know God will enable me to accomplish His will through this wonderful organization.

I am a native of Jacksonville, NC where I grew up as a middle child with one older and one younger brother. I became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, at the age of 15, when I accepted Jesus into my life. I am currently  Sunday School class secretary and sing in the choir at Bethlehem.

On July 31, 2000, I began working with the New River Baptist Association where I was hired for the position of Front Desk Receptionist. Eventually, I was promoted to the position of Administrative Assistant and then, sometime later, to Office/Financial Administrator which is my current position.

I am the proud Momma of James David (43) and Joshua Caleb (41) who is married to Becca. I am  also the proud Grammy of Isabella (8) and Luke (due  October 14). I like to do word puzzles, color in coloring books, and take outdoor walks in my spare time.
